Safe Travels USA Cost Saver is a international comprehensive travel medical insurance plan designed for non-U.S. citizens who reside outside the USA and are traveling outside their home country to visit solely the U.S. or to visit a combination of U.S. and other countries worldwide. The plan is suitable for budget-conscious travelers seeking comprehensive coverage benefits at an affordable price. It offers coverage from 5 days up to 364 days. The minimum age for coverage is 14 days old and up to 89 years old. The plan offers policy maximums ranging from $50,000 to $1,000,000 and a wide choice of deductibles options ranging from $0 to $5,000. After the deductible is satisfied the plan pays 80% of the first $5,000 eligible medical expenses then 100% thereafter. It also offers coverage for unexpected recurrence of a pre-existing condition. The plan provides coverage for medical expenses, emergency medical and political evacuation, repatriation of remains, trip interruption, baggage, and accidental death and dismemberment. Safe Travels USA – Cost Saver FAQs

The Safe Travels USA Cost Saver plan is available for any non-US citizen or resident, including green card holders, visiting the USA for a short period of time. It is not available for US citizens, or long-term visa holders who pay taxes in the USA.

You would need the names, dates of birth, passport numbers of the visitors, the visitor's home country address and a valid credit card to buy the plan.

You can print out your ID card from your confirmation e-mail and it will be used as proof of insurance. Nothing is sent to the mailing address in the home country.

Yes, if you buy the plan initially for more than 5 days, you can extend the policy. You would need to extend the plan at least two days before the policy expires. There would be an extra $5 extension charge.

Yes, you can cancel and get a refund for the Safe Travels USA Cost Saver Plan, if you need to go back earlier than planned. The following rules apply:

1) A written request is required for cancellation.
2) If you cancel the policy before the start date, you would get the full refund back.
3) After the policy start date, you can get the refund, only if you do not need to visit the doctor/provider while the policy is in force.
4) You can get the prorated refund back for the number of days left in the policy.
5) $25 cancellation fee applies.
6) If there is any claim on file, you would not get any refund back.
